13 giorni e 3381 km attraverso l'Italia/13 days and 3381 km across Italy

From North to south by car, travelling across the whole boot-shaped peninsula and enjoying the amazing views.
We left behind the hills of Piedmont and met the ligurian sea, followed the coast to Tuscany, with its breathtaking landscapes, the cypresses surrounded by soft hills, the mountains around Carrara and the white marbles.
Then south again through Umbria with the castles on the top of the tufa hills, the bubbling cascades.
Slowly travelling south, among the cities in Lazio and Campania until we reached the most extreme part of Italy, where Sicily is just a few kilometers far away across the strait of Messina.
Sometimes the travel counts more than the destination, just like life!
During this amazing trip we stopped here and there; in the
always emotioning Florence, enjoying the view from Giardini di Bobli, migling with  the swarming tourists in Piazza della signoria and ponte vecchio.
Then the wild Calabria, covered with mountains on fire facing a crystal clear sea, the streets rolling around themselves and making us dizzy.
Sicily winking around the corner, Stromboli and its volcano on the horizon in front of Pizzo.
Then on the way back home Le Marmore falls,  with their 165 meters of falling water.
At last Orvieto, perched on a great tufa hill, with its amazing Duomo, lighting up at sunset when the last rays of the sun hit the gold of the façade.
It was a wonderfull trip, a path that made us want to stop every few kilometers to admire our beautifull country.
A travel to do again and again and in 3 months, instead of 13 days!
